Looking At You Gives Me Butterflies

Today I was thinking about butterflies in the tummy, manrepelling, and Mae West. Those three subjects really don't belong in a sentence together much less a post. But, Il see if I can somehow string them together. One of the first blogs that I ever read was TheManRepeller. Leandra Medine's blog is about all the ways a girl can frighten and confuse men through fashion. To add to the fun and laughs, she started making youtube videos. My favorites are the Rachel Roy, Manrepeller series. There is currently 3 and it took me awhile to decide which to feature, since, they all are hilarious. I decided on the "Blind Date: Case# 1086" because of the  hilarious extra sarcasm and contradiction.

How it ties into butterflies? Manrepelling is fun but not for everyone. If you're one of those awesome, independent,so over it people, then, go ahead let the freak flag fly. But, if you're one of those butterflies in the tummy people, who still cares somewhat about what "they" think, then, individuality is vogue but the manrepelling freakflag is not so much. I happen to be sailing in the middle of the two, most of the time.

One person who managed to be super individual, independent, self-assured, but at the same time a serial manpropeller, was Mae West. She was a playwright, actress, and fiercely different lady during a time of conformity. Her look/style was not trendy but "extremely flattering".As I(a creature of habit) always do, I picked my fave five Mae West quotes. And since this post is slightly short(for my standards anyways), Ill add some commentary too. :)
1) "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough." True to an extent. I completely agree and try to live by the whole "live your life", principle behind this.
2)"Don't cry for a man who's left you--the next one may fall for your smile" Nope, i can't add to that. Its perfect.
3)"Look your best - who said love is blind? " Had to add this: For better or for worse, men are biologically very visual people. Women are too. Anyways, guys are usually attracted to the girl who looks like she respects herself and others,  who is confident, and displays that respect and confidence by taking care of herself and looking her best.
4) "I never worry about diets. The only carrots that interest me are the number you get in a diamond." *hahhaha luvv it*
5)"His mother should have thrown him away and kept the stork." This is a prime example of how to really insult someone for real or in a " we're so cool in our friendship, we can laugh and insult without ANY problem." way. Its original, funny and proves that strong insults can be made without censored words. Reality TV could be so much funnier.
Many thanks for reading. I hope you all have lots of happy days. A new post will come very soon. Much love and warm feelings:)
