I'll Take Funny-Faced and Crazy over Beautiful and Unoriginal

Last night, I saw my new favorite movie Funny Face. I was soo inspired: fashion wise, hair wise, persona wise and post wise. Unfortunately, I don't think its possible to share more than one video on a post. Is it? If it is please email me instructions on how its done.:) Anyways, I decided to do a loong post divided into three posts.Does that make any sense?
Funny Face stars Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, and its just a gorgeous very chic classic musical film. I was in love with Audrey Hepburn's character (and Fred Astaire's too). Audrey Hepburn plays the part of Jo. The fashion magazine's photographer(Dick aka Fred Astaire) is trying to capture a fashion spread of a stylish but intelligent young lady. The current model he was using, though, wasn't feeling it .( "shes got the intellect of a snake" ) In a last ditch effort to intellectualize the model, he takes her to a privately owned philosphy bookstore. In settting up the photo shoot, he is quite rude and upsets the girl in charge of the bookstore(Jo aka Audrey) . When Dick looks over the results he realizes that is model is quite hopeless but that Jo, who was captured in the background, is the model he has been looking for. At first the editor is skeptical since she has a "funny face". But, they make her over and she models for them. It gets dramatic and complicated, so no more spoilers. :)

I was most inspired by Jo's character. She is very smart and philosophical. Jo believes in emphology. Its the belief that true happiness in life is gained through actively practicing empathy for other human beings.Jo doesn't believe in the fashion industry, but she uses the opportunity given to her so she can go to Paris. When there, she doesn't want to work but wants to philosophize in the cafes in the hopes of meeting Professor Forster(founder of emphology). Anywho, one scene that really struck me was when Dick finds her in a cafe. When he enters, two girls at different times, ask him to dance with them. Dick blows them off.Seeing that,  Jo tells him that he was mean not to dance with them. Dick replies that where he comes from guys ask girls to dance. Jo tells him that is stupid and that dancing is just a way of expressing and releasing. She then jumps up and says she wants a release herself and dances. , I agree. I think we all (female and male), should be direct ,and, ask and state  frankly whatever is in  our  heart . Flirting, playing hard to get games, and sending signals are for the birds.    Could you imagine how much simpler and uncomplicated life would become?

The dialogue in Funny face is gold. Many of the lines really made me think. Some of them  struck  a I-relate-to-that-cord in me as well. Here are some of my favorites.
Dick Avery: Every girl on every page of Quality has grace, elegance, and pizzazz. Now what's wrong with bringing out a girl who has character, spirit, and intelligence?
Dick Avery: When I'm done, you'll look like...
Dick Avery: What do you call beautiful? A tree. You'll look like a tree.

Jo Stockton: I was taught that I ought not expose my inner senses... Maggie Prescott: She put herself in your place - all you have to do is put yourself in her place, and you're *bound* to bump into each other in somebody's place.
Jo Stockton: I have no desire to be kissed.

*I hope you are all able to watch Funny Face. As you can probably tell, Im enraptures about that movie. Sunday's or probably Monday's post will be about a movie I love love and Ive watched hundreds of times. It'll also talk about my celebrity crush (crushes?) Im excited and I hope you wonderful readers will like it. Many many hugs and warm feelings.:)--- Briee

ps if you're looking into posting more than one video, I'm pretty sure that I did it through youtube....I opened two "create a posts" and then either dragged or copied one of the videos over to combine them into one post. (if that didn't make sense, just email me) :D
